WordPress Integration
Connect your WordPress site and publish articles directly from Stealth Writer.
Setting Up WordPress Connection
To publish content directly to WordPress, you'll need to connect your site using Application Passwords. This provides secure, revocable access without sharing your main WordPress password.
Requirements
- • WordPress 5.6 or higher (Application Passwords built-in)
- • Administrator or Editor access to your WordPress site
- • HTTPS enabled on your WordPress site (recommended)
Creating Application Passwords
Follow these steps to create an Application Password in WordPress:
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Go to Users → Profile (or your specific user profile)
- Scroll down to the Application Passwords section
- Enter a name for the application (e.g., "Stealth Writer")
- Click Add New Application Password
- Copy the generated password immediately — it won't be shown again!
⚠️ Important
The Application Password is only shown once when created. Copy it immediately and store it securely. If you lose it, you'll need to create a new one.
Configuring Your Connection
In Stealth Writer, go to WordPress Settings and enter:
Site URL
Your WordPress site URL (e.g., https://yourdomain.com). Include the protocol (https://) but not a trailing slash.
Username
Your WordPress username (not email). This is the user account associated with the Application Password.
Application Password
The Application Password you created in WordPress. It will look something like:xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx
Default Category and Status
Configure default options for published posts:
- Default Category: Choose which WordPress category new posts should be assigned to
- Default Status: Select whether posts are published immediately, saved as drafts, or set to pending review
You can override these settings when publishing individual articles.
Testing Your Connection
After entering your credentials, click Test Connection to verify everything is working. A successful test will:
- Confirm the site URL is accessible
- Validate your username and Application Password
- Retrieve available categories from your site
If the test fails, double-check your URL, username, and password. Make sure Application Passwords are enabled on your WordPress site.
Publishing Articles to WordPress
Once connected, publishing is simple:
- Open an article from your Content History
- Click the Push to WordPress button
- Select category and post status (or use defaults)
- Click Publish
The article will be created on your WordPress site and you'll receive a link to view or edit it in WordPress.
What Gets Published
- • Article title as post title
- • Full HTML content with formatting
- • Headings, lists, links preserved
- • Images (if any) as URLs
Managing Multiple WordPress Sites
You can connect and manage multiple WordPress sites. Each site needs its own configuration with separate credentials.
